well ive been look arounf for a cheap vps to do the same thing . the cheapest windows vps ive found was godaddy . idk if u know much about vps but id like to know how much bandwidrh id need a month to run like 6 clients 24/7 .

I found 1and1 to be quite good when I used them. £14.99 for up to 2Gb RAM / unlimited bandwidth / 20Gb storage (plenty for what you're looking at). I don't think godaddy do VPS, they are primarily web hosting.

yeah they have vps ive looked at it but ill check out 1and1 and see im in the usa so hopefuly i can use them.

ok i just looked at it and dont see anything on the site for 14 euro what what ur saying can u link for me?

I'm on the UK site - www.1and1.co.uk - £14.99 (GBP) / month = Virtual Server "L" package:

RAM: up to 2048 MB DDR RAM
Storage: 20 GB (RAID5)
Traffic: unlimited

It's probably the $30 package on .com, and probably something like 25 euros on some European site.

oh ok well the .com dosent have unlimited bandwidth . hopefuly i can get the 14.99 one and still use it hopefully i wont lag on us tibia servers

A virtual private server, is a virtual machine, note the virtual in the name, it is an OS running on VMware, HyperV or some other virtualization software.

When using a VPS I experience the screen being choppy. E.G. When my character moves, when I minimize something. Is this because it has 1 CPU / 256MB RAM and is running a Tibia client? Or is it how VPS are meant to work?

They have extremely shitty graphics cards, not to mention the delay between sending all the information from the tibia server -> tibia client now it also has to send all the screen data from vps -> your computer.

If you're playing EU servers it will be fine, since 1and1 servers are in London, for the .co.uk site. The American servers won't be so good though, I can't say how bad, but probably still botable.

NeeP - You normally get sent an IP / port and can remote desktop into them, so it's just like your own "remote computer". Because of the technology in software like VMware, it's also pretty safe for the host.

well if i was on a european server id have no problems getting one. as far as lag goes is if ur watching ur char from the vps yeah u will see lag but if u put it on tibiacast u see it real time . the vps is always a few sec behind what ur char is really doing .

Take a look on www.lowendbox.com , there used to be a lot of VPS offers, however not many Windows machines. If you want, you could get a KVM virtualized machine and install Windows there.

You can setup an AWS instance. The micro is free for a year, I have a free windows 2012 server running right now from them. You may need to up to a bigger plan though, and there is a bit of a learning curve.
AWS is not a fixed price, you pay what you use, so it could be better or worse, I'm not sure for Tibia.

But my advice, always look at WebHostingTalk forums if you're planning on getting any sort of hosting:

I've seen that its possible to run Xeno with linux ( making the VPS even cheaper). Now, a question: running 10-12 clients at once, how much ram you think that those clients will use? Or he needs to worry about CPU and not RAM ?
