What is SOPA?
These are two pieces of legislation: the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House and its Senate companion bill, the Protect IP Act (PIPA). The purpose of these bills is to make it harder for sites — especially those located outside the United States — to sell or distribute pirated copyrighted material such as movies and music as well as physical goods such as counterfeit purses and watches. Even most of SOPA and PIPA’s strongest opponents applaud the intentions of the legislation while deploring what it might actually accomplish.

On black Wednesday, XenoBot.net was replaced with a "STOP SOPA" page, for those of you who failed to notice. I was against this bill before 99% of the people against it knew it was around.

(I bet a lot of you don't know it went to legislation on Dec. 17th and was only then postponed until now. If it hadn't been, it would have passed, because big coorporations like Google and Wikipedia still had their dicks between their legs at that point).

how could anyone be 'for' it, the usa is just trying to pump more money out of people.. looking for new things to tax to get every last penny. if you allow it too happen in the usa its not going to be long before others follow like the uk and france.
if its passed it will mean online free information and downloads (some sites that host movies in swe ) will be blocked out just like in china ;p
