View Full Version : Coming back to Tibia, what Vocation?

Hello there dear Tibia players!

I've decided, for some silly reason, to start playing (boting hueueue) in Tibia again after last playing the game about 6-7 years ago, so it's safe to say that I am kinda out of the loop when it comes to gameplay. I've googled quite a while and I simply haven't found the answer to my question that's up to date: "new" player, what vocation to start with? I remember back in the days that I always wanted a summoner (druid/mage and have a pet to level with that pewpews and tanks for me), but how viable is that? If I remember correctly, the pets themselves took your experience aswell? Oh well, my question is: What class do you recommend for a "new" player and why? The things I want concidered are:

* Obviously, I'm gonna bot.
* I know no one and I have no gold in this game yet.
* I have no clue where to level, I'll have to research that, but just cause a veteran player can solo a dragon on level 10 does not mean that I can. (for example)
* If caster, Sorc or Druid, and why?
* Any scripts you can recommend on these forums to level with. I'm gonna play a free account for now, not sure how interested I will be buying a premium one.
* Don't think lategame where you hunt in groups, think of a class that will want me to keep on playing!
* Playing on a non-PvP server, so PK is the least of my problems.

I would greatly appreciate any input you guys have on these, and help me choose a vocation before my rat boting ends!

Well, if you want the simple/easy route, knight is by far it. It is possible to bot quite successfully with horrible skills with a knight.

I'd also HIGHLY recommend premium, far fewer players/bots to deal with than the FACC areas.

I'd say paladin because they are fairly easy to level. Mages may be a bit tricky to start with since you almost need premium to level them(most spells require it) they require also more money to buy supplies, spells etc. And at last from my personal experience I belive knight gets boring to play manual especially at lower levels without prem.

I did read that you are going to bot but I assume you're going to play some manuall aswell otherwise I cant see the point in comming back to tibia.

Well, if premium is the way to go, I might buy it. And yes, like you guys said, I will obviously do manual play aswell, but whenever I do other things I'd like to bot I guess. I've read that knight is relly expensive though, as I'll be needing gear to level in a decent pace? I used to have a Paladin and I remember them beeing quite fun, does Xenobot have like "distance fighting" where it kites the adds?

If your coming back to the game and expecting what you had 6 or 7 years ago don't even bother playing the game is progressively getting worse. The days of hunting with a summoned creature are long gone as a logical means of leveling.

This.

The game is complete shit compared to what it used to be

Not to sound rude but I didn't ask you guys if I should come back or not, I simply asked for what you thought would be best. I've decided to go with a Knight, thanks for the guys who replied to what I asked!

Each vocation has its benefits and drawbacks, so take a look:

Sorcerer:
Hard to find group hunts
Good range of attacks, but most are AOE so difficult to bot with at higher levels (though it's possible to bot with runes / shitty strike spells)
Very easy to die while botting AFK if someone lures a little.

Druid:
Easy to find group hunts
Good range of attacks, slightly limited due to lower damage than sorcerer, but the big benefit is the healing spells.
Again, the issue of being difficult to bot at higher levels.
Very easy to die while botting AFK if someone lures a little.

Knight:
Easy to find group hunts
Shit range of attacks, primarily melee damage will be your winner at first, if you get to level 200+ you'll be looking at using Berserk, Fierce Berserk, and Frontal Sweep to bot, and the scripts become difficult to find at that point.
Easy as fuck to bot, just make a few waypoints and add a few creatures, no spell configuration except 1 healing spell, mana potion, generally 1 type of health potion unless you're very poor ingame.
Very wealthy due to low expenses when botting.

Paladin:
Medium difficulty to find group hunts, usually can tag along with druid and knight.
Good range of attacks, mostly only damage 1 creature at a time though, so not good for super high exp rates.
Medium difficulty to bot, easier at higher levels due to increased speed (at lower levels it's better not to bother keeping distance, as you'll gain shielding on rotworms and trolls and such, higher levels can easily outrun most mobs (150+), and medium levels can outrun most things they want to hunt (80+).
Very wealthy at higher levels due to taking very little damage by keeping a distance from creatures.
Very poor at lower levels due to having constant expenses for spears / bolts / arrows / stars as well as potions.

If you're gonna stick with an EK you will inevitably find the game boring, unless your sole goal is to obtain as much cash as possible. You won't get any fast exp, but you'll get a constant slow rate which could be considered better than a druid, paladin, or sorcerer.

As a free account you'll be looking at these spawns (after rookgaard):
Ab'dendriel trolls
Venore Swamp trolls
Carlin / Thais troll caves

Then after level 15~ you'll be looking at:
Venore Rotworms
Kazordoon dwarf mines
Venore Amazons
Carlin Amazons

Then you're pretty much stuck until level 40 when you could consider:
Outside orc fortress
Deeper Kazordoon mines (hit up some soldiers and shit, not guards yet though)
Shadowthorn (Elves near Venore)
Elvenbane (Minotaurs, elves, and orcs near Ab'dendriel)

Then you're pretty much stuck again until level 80+ when you can look at (with good skills, like 80+/70+):
Thais / Venore / Carlin Dragon lairs
Kazordoon mines deepest (Dwarf Guards)
Inside orc fort
Mintwallin

As for scripts, well I can't really help. I don't really bot that much any more and certainly not on FACC nor on such levels.

Good luck.

paladin for solo hunting. they make easier cash at low levels.
druid/knight for grouphunting.

as facc, pally or knight.

Start as a Knight, maybe have 2, one on another account. Make money to either buy a prem scroll or fund a MS or ED. You can make mad cash on necro/heroes :D
