Hello guys!

I've recently cleaned up my computer, taking away loads of files sorting and all that stuff. So when I was done I took up my tibia client and was going to start botting some, and I notice that im running forward really laggy and when I enabled the ALT + F8 function I could see my FPS was at 30 when it's usually around 300+ (Since I use the maximum option) I tried loads of stuff to make the FPS act normal again but no matter what I did it didn't wanna go above 31~

Here comes the strange thing, when running in fullscreen mode the FPS goes to 400 directly and I'm completely lagg free, fullscreen off laggs again and FPS goes down to 30 yet again..

Since I can't seem to find the problem I would ask you guys of some help! Appreciate any tip of what to do that could be the issue.

any difference if you switch to another engine?

No, I tried that aswell usually running DX9 but DX5 and OGL was exactly the same..

The wierd part is that if I run it as fullscreen CTRL + F it runs as smooth as before but when I'm running it maximized it just goes down to 30 and I move forward in slowmotion.. also if I make the tibia client minimized (so that you can still see it, just dragging every corner to make it smaller) it goes to 400 fps again..

Trying an re-install now, wanted to avoid because of CFG modifications but I have to I guess..

EDIT: No luck after re-installing either.. :(

It seemed to fix itself atleast a little now, it's gone up to 150 and is now playable!

If anyone esle seems to get this I think you just have to wait around like me and it will fix itself ^^ Lets hope so atleast!

~30fps is the max the human eye can see so you aren't lagging as ~30fps and 300fps would look exactly the same depending on how your monitor and gpu handle it (usually would be no visible difference to the human eye) But forget the science, I limit my own clients to 30fps and it doesn't lagg even though I can run each at over 300fps each. (4200+ with a single client :*)

So either the fps is lying or you aren't lagging but I doubt you would post here unless you were actually lagging. I know its solved now but it was probably happening because you had your fps set to "max fps" which doesn't work very well on alot of situations.

You should limit your fps to 30 or even 50 if you want because being on max can cause problems for tibia AND the rest of your system.

The delays weren't on my eyes, it was on the client :p for example, I press my arrow key three times but my character only moves once  so it was more of delay and shit, but yeah

Thought the thing about having max could damage your system, what do you mean? ^^

Ah, that lagg sounds like latency problem.

about the max fps and its impact on your system i don't know how much you know about computers so no offense if i've dumbed it down... Maxing it causes tibia to want to use a huge amount if not all of your systems power which means other programs will be suffocated and not be able to function correctly (lagg) and it will even lagg the tibia client if you don't have a powerful enough system.. although you may not notice it straight away the "suffocating" builds up over time and will be felt later. If you have a very good spec pc then the effects are not as harsh (but still there!) and it wastes electricity as your computer is working much harder for nothing.

Also you said "damage" there wouldn't actually be any physical damage to your system because of this unless you took off your cpu/gpu cooler :P

I see, and no it wasn't a latency problem since I could run CS and other games/programs without the slightest problem..

Also my system is kinda awesome, with customized SSD disk, motherboard and enough RAM/CPU power to stuff 20+ clients.. But I'll listen to your advice and lower it, sound pretty daft to make it try use more than it can, any advices on what I should put it on? I've put it down on 100 dunno if thats still to much or not ^^

Oh that's weird then :P and that's a nice sounding system :D

@ fps well since you can only see @30fps limiting to 40 is fine :) But for some reason when i limit to 40 my tibis run at 25 lol so i limit to 50 and get 50fps... so just limit it to anything that keeps it above 35fps and you should be good (and power saving!:)

also when botting you can limit it to 10fps for further power saving
