If you computer got wireless internet you can turn "hotspot" on your phone and connect to that.

We'll. Do you have something like this in it? http://www.kjell.com/images/Product_130400664426026750/product/1
Or some other kind of things so you can connect to wireless.. Anyway if you can't or not I will tell how to turn it on your phone.

Step 1. Go to your settnings
Step 2. Go to Datauser.. Just go to network (more..)
Step 3. Find Internetsharing and hotspot and click on that
Step 4. The you gonna activate that and try to find the settnings (Name and password)
Step 5. If everything is corretly setup you should be able to find it with a wireless device.

The linksys has antenas like that. Now I'm not sure if I need to connect the internet cord to the back of tower or the ethernet cord from the linksys.
Maybe It won't work because I need to install linksys disk on this standing computer
:(.. I thought maybe when linksys is plugged in computer it can work without software

Edit: I don't have the hotspot service paid for looking for a different way..

If you plug your phone into your computer via the USB cable, does the computer instantly recognise it as a USB mass storage device? or as a phone? If a mass storage device, take a look through your phones settings and look for hotspot.

Also, what model of phone is it? If you can tell us that we may actually be able to help as opposed to just guessing :P

Note that linksys is a Cisco router, so you should indeed have wifi. It's a question of if your phone supports wifi network sharing. I can tell you now that the iPhone does, as do most Nokias, not sure about Android OS, but I can't imagine them not supporting it.

Its an lg viper.. the computer doesn't recognize it. But hotspot is a seperate cost for my phone bill I don't pay for it..
The phone just has internet. And I'm tring to sync it up or whatever wiifi kind of transfer I can do to give my standing
Computer internet. So I won't have to buy road runner or some service

I used to do this, unless you can encrypt your whole phones internet connection using a very stable vpn then you don't stand a chance and they will block it.

I used pdanet + it allowes it to work via usb and wifi.
