Suggestions:
Throughout the lifespan of the game of Tibia, CIPSoft has added some things that have made game-play less enjoyable or has caused a loss in functionality. It is my hope that through Xenobot, users will be able to remedy these small inconveniences imposed by CIPSoft and be able to truly enjoy their Tibian experience. The following is a small list of functions that I think would be beneficial to that cause.
Also included in the list are some suggestions to improve the functionality of the bot, these are not related to fixing CIPSoft's mistakes/stupidity.
With the latest update (8.7) came an increased exhaust in some spells. To accommodate this, CIPSoft added an ugly "cool down" bar that shows the exhaust on spells. Try to make a new one with added functionality and better aesthetic appeal.
Consider:
Spell casting on click.
Transparent background.
Custom images.
Positioning options (Top/Right/Bottom/Left).
Another addition to the game that is detrimental to the well-being of the botting community was the creation of stamina. While this was good news to the foolish people who do not bot, it's quite an inconvenience for the rest of us. The idea of stamina is to deter players from staying online for obscene amounts of time by reducing their experience after so many hours. To remedy this, consider adding customizable alarms for certain stamina levels, as well as the option to log out at a certain level of stamina.
As many people in the botting community know, an important factor of a bot is it's scripting interface. While I personally am delighted at the aesthetic appeal of the integration of the bot's UI into the Tibia client, it would reduce functionality when it came to an interface for scripting. By allowing a user to open a separate window for scripting, important things such as color coding, and auto-formatting could be implemented.
Following the path of making Xenobot very intuitive and user-friendly, consider implementing a "notification" system. The idea behind this is that when a user does certain things related to the bot, it provides them with on-screen guidance. Make this option possible to enable/disable (but have it enabled as default). Perhaps consider adding some notifications that display only one time when the user does something, so the next time they repeat that action, it will not display.
In example:
First Run: The first time the bot is run on a logged in character, an on-screen notification tells the user something along the lines of "Welcome to Xenobot, to get started try right-clicking your character. For any support or questions, visit our forum at http://www.xenobot.net/forums. Thank you for your purchase and have fun!"
Unsafe: The first (few?) times a user opens the Unsafe options, alert them that the tools they are viewing are deemed potentially unsafe and to proceed with caution.
Also consider adding these notifications to any tools/options which seem otherwise unexplained (i.e. BP Info, etc.)
More to come!
