Like Craban said, it's a DDoS mitigation service (DDoS protection). Which is something they should have invested in a long time ago. Yes, it costs quite a bit of money (I read somewhere top-tier protection is $20,000+), but doing a pay-decrease based on salary/wage to pay for this service would easily fund it without "hurting" employee income. Though, I'm sure their income isn't what it used to be anyway.
