gaming pc more powerful, less limited, but it depends what you like. Playing pc games since I can remember I don't really enjoy consoles as much, personally. A while ago I bought an xbox 360 but rather than pay to play online i bought a ps3 because psn isnt subscription based.

Um... A $499 PC isn't a gaming PC, therefore I would suggest the Xbox One.
But if you're saying, "Should I spend $1,000+ on a PC or $499 on Xbox One" - the PC is the better choice, performance wise.

PC over XB1 anyday.
If you are going for a console go for the superior ps4, it's cheaper and better.
I bought a new computer recently, will get ps4 in a few months.

PC.
Cheaper games
Looks better
Computer definately.
1. Cheaper PC games, easier to download & play cracked games for free haha :p
2. More functions: full windows OS you can play, internet, music, videos, write, work and much more, Xbox is limited in its functions
3. You can play games at PC with a controller aswell
4. (Better graphics on a nice gaming pc, more tweaking options) <- not sure about this
5. PC is not subscription based (Xbox live account)

Nowadays a 500$ PC is like i5 or i7 Intel Quadcore 2-3Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 750-1000 GB HDD, eventually a small SSD, a decent graphics card with 2GB RAM, maybe 4GB
I think that's better than a Xbox One even by performance
(my laptop I use costed 500 euro and has i5@2,3 Ghz, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, nvidia Gforce 660m with 2GB ram and about 1,5 years old. also you pay more for laptops, so for 500 dollar now you should get an even better normal pc)

A $499 PC is not going to be better than an Xbox One. It may be 1-3 FPS better, but that's negligible. $750+ is when you start noticing it.

ps4 , gaming pc is more expensive, and you gotta tune it everytime, when new games come out
pc +: graphics + power
pc -: price + tuning for new games, new cpu etc.
ps4 +: price(400€) + fking easy to use
ps4 -: no way to tune it, graphics can't be upgraded
also depends on if you are pc gamer or console gamer, im console gamer, i never play games on pc, just tibia, company of heroes and some other games, which don't need good pc ;)
thats my opinion
and my advice for you: if money is np for you, get a good pc :)
PS: a really fking up to date & good gaming pc costs 800€-2000€, always depends on what you want/need

Lol you guys make up all this shit as you go along? consoles are crap, u get like 4 good games a year and then u need to buy a new console for 200euro. I've had mine 700euro computer for about 7-8 years now, its getting bad but it still runs all the games Iäve tried or wanted to play. U dont have to tune it for every game... no I've just undusted mine like 3 times and it runs good again. Jesus, just buy a decent computer save 10 times the money. and you can do so much more on the computer than the shitty consoles

For someone getting so angry about people making shit up, you sure did make a lot up yourself.
I have 4 good games from launch already for my Xbox One.
Consoles usually have a lifespan of about 4 years (more or less).
You really have to determine whether you want to upgrade your gaming rig or buy a new console.
The good news for both is:
- PC: you can dial back settings, so like lunajamba up here, if you want to run lower end on your 8 year old build, you can. Keep in mind, eventually you won't be able to run lower settings, or you may not like what you see
- Console: the lifespan is pretty long, developers are forced to optimize their games to run smoothly guaranteed for the lifespan of the console (that includes the time after the new release) Xbox 360 games are still being released.
Depending on what you upgrade for your PC, it can be expensive or cheap. A new video card is the biggest setback. Some video cards are a lot more expensive than a console (looking at you GTX Titan)
Eventually you may need to upgrade your CPU, maybe your motherboard doesn't support a newer CPU, time to upgrade that. Might need more fans or water cooling, or a bigger power supply. More upgrades!!!
I built a gaming rig, and I bought the Xbox One. I have separate uses for them, and I enjoy both.
Couch gaming rocks after a long day of work.
PS: I'd like to mention if you play FPS games you may actually want to opt for the Xbox One. I know I know, mouse is better.
But the amount of hackers is significantly less on consoles, it makes playing a lot more enjoyable. PC game devs tend to abandon their fight against hackers on old PC games.
So if you want to play those games you better be prepared to search for a good server, if you can find one. (looking at you Crysis 2)
Consoles don't really have abandonment issues with their servers until much after their systems discontinuation.
But, because there are usually no player hosted servers, multiplayer is eventually no longer possible. (looking at you Halo 2)

i get a easy 80-100 fps in cod and on the xbone i get around 30-50 just saying xbone and ps4 has inferrior shit in them u can buy the exact same stuff they have for around 400$ just saying

I don't understand your point.
Console graphics are different than that of PC. Consoles are designed to run games at 720p or 900p, not 1080p.

Way better with a computer, no more explanation needed.
Xbox One cost $970 on my country.

gaming pc all the way.
Why? with a PC you can play almost everything and you can even do more than that, with a xbox you are limited.

Definitely pc. I actually don't have a great gaming PC but once I have enough I want it. My friend has one and just goes on steam and downloads all the games on sale. He says theres also a ton of mods with custom story lines to games too which seems pretty sweet
