In a couple of days, I am going to sell my my main to somebody. I don't really trust him and I want to make sure I don't get scammed.

My questions:
1) Is it possible to chargeback money if it was sent as a gift on paypal?
2) What else can I do to be sure he's not able to scam me?

1) He can call bank and report unauthorized payment, they will get back his cash but hes gonna have problems with paypal.
2) Make him write a comment on paypal that payment is a gift and authorized, no chargeback disputes will be open.
Or You could simply use a middleman if its a lot of cash.

No, 2) is wrong, this won't help. Simply don't use PayPal if you don't trust that dude.

Middlemen are an option, yes.

There are a couple things you can do...

1. Create an invoice! You are able to add terms and agreements to the invoice.
2. Create a donation button and provide him with the link to it. Donations cannot be reversed.
3. Use Western Union (or another viable channel for the exchange).

#3 is the most secure option. However, it will have a substantial fee. The fee for PayPal will be the same for each option, approximately 2.9%.

Anything that could be done to prevent or help preventing scam should be done.. So its never surplus to add it.

No, this doesn't even give a marginal advantage.

Simply follow advice J.Dre gave.

I've used invoice once. I trusted the dude though.

I doubt an invoice is safe because there's absolutly no buyer or seller protection with PayPal when it comes to virtual goods trades.

If you trade virtual goods and do not trust the buyer, simply do NOT use PayPal.
