View Full Version : RAM increasing because of multiple characters skilling at one spot
Basically, the RAM of my tibia clients, that are in my 'skilling farm', go up sky high after a while. They start off at approx. 50-60 mb each tibia client, but can go up to like 600mb+ RAM each client. After 600+ they usually tend to debug. I realized that it is probably caused by the fact that they are skilling on the same tibia screen (or because they are training on mad sheeps, but I suppose that's less likely). My current setup is like this:

At the time of the screenshot the characters have been online for:
Character 1: 53 mins
Character 2: 50 mins
Character 3: 40 mins
Character 4: 20 mins
Character 5: 2 mins
Character 5 is another tibia client that I put in depot with anti idle to check if the RAM would also go up like that on other places.
To illustrate the increasing RAM, I made another screenshot, approximately 30 mins after the previous screenshot.

The RAM went already up to 300+ MB after less than 1.5 hours of botting. My question is if there is any possibility to prevent this from happening, other than placing the characters at different spots and not on the same screen anymore.
P.s. I'm not even sure yet if placing them at different spots works. I'll reboot one tibia client now and place it more to the south to test it and will upload a screenshot of it later on today.
EDIT: as mentioned above I placed character 4 at a different spot. Screenshot was taken about 80 minutes after the second screenshot.

So I think the conclusion is that the high RAM was caused by training on the same spot.

got them on 30 atm, usually i have them on 10 and the same problem occurs though. FPS mainly affects the processor and not the ram, as far as i know.

Well.. Worth a try: change to DX5 and fix 10 fps for them.. the average ram usage is arond 100 mb as far as iknow

I rebooted one of the characters like half an hour ago and placed it to the south. That character has 53 mb ram usage now and the other clients have slightly decreased ram usage. but yeah I'll change the fps to 10, simply forgot to do that when I started up the clients.

Most computers nowadays has 8 gb ram if you would buy a new one today for 1000$~, some even 16 gb but expect to pay a lot more for that.

My point was that it's not normal that a tibia client training on mad sheeps uses 600mb of ram. For the record, my laptop has 6gb ram, which I think is fine if the main purpose of it is school. Also I wasn't planning to buy a new laptop/computer, I was rather asking for a possible solution.

I think I might have same issue as you do, how do you check these ram usage per program?

Press CTRL + ALT + Delete at the same time -> Open task manager -> check how many mb of memory each program uses.

Are you using any scripts that can cause memory leaks?
Like infinite looping without delay or something like that?

Ye, but after task manager there are 6 options for me, Program/Processes/Services/Performance/Network/Users. But it doesnt seem to show the same way as your OS are doing. I assume fysical memory is the RAM memory? If so it says that if I open a client it gains 50 mb memory just like you said in this thread. However, I got much more memory to take from but yet I get crashes.

I'm using healer to say exura ico if mana is above 45 (randomized), eat food and anti-idle. No other functions and no scripts either.
I've also tested without anti-idle and the same problem occured.

I've told Mr DarkstaR to give us a reply about this issue of what he thinks.
Hopefully a reply in 7-12h maybe?

nothing new about this ?
Got that aswell. but not that fast and with normal bot chars (exping). I have to close + reopen all clients each day atleast once and reboot once per 2x days +/-. Kinda weird. Oo

Yeah man, last xenobot updates i was running a lot of clients for weeks in a row, i didnt even need to restart something
In this new Xeno update, i get this memory usage problem, maybe DarkStar need to launch a new patch to fix this, i dont know whats happening
I put the bots in the SS and after i come back in like 12 hours, the memory usage is like 500mb for every client, lol.

There's a script probably causing memory leaks, jus my speculation.
Also 4gb of ram is all you really need for gaming, especially tibia, no game uses 8gb as of right now, and 16gb is jus overkill for gaming, unless your also doing video editing/rendering/workstation type shit, then you would need more memory.

I know this is offtopic but how exactly are you training on mad sheep when they only have 22 hp. My guess is you're a low level using a lvl 80+ weapon and attacking in full def?

full attack with a warlord arena weapon does the trick with any level 10

eh i noticed that also but here is something weird.....when playing a ot and playing r/l tibia i only have ram spikes on the r/l tibia client...and im running the same scripts...so maybe this is the key factor to the whole banning system........here's the Idea....... (botter).....Human player reports......Then (Botter) has a client audit via client side detection but more of a security check for common .exe's and other basic checks such as hardcore client changed or via softmod client changes...example of hardmod's would be (Xray....Icons.....Title Changes....Mass Packet Sending.....Exhaust Monitering)....Softmods would be (Light....Fishers....general macros.....ect) there has been a massive increase in the .exe since 8.6 it wouldnt take much coding for the or hell OT's Have cast systems what if they have the same shit but can see like 100+ chars in there office per day just sorting botters by watching there clients via a CIPSOFT Cast System....just something to think about.
