When last I played Tib there were no level restrictions.

When a weapon "can only be wielded properly by...", what exactly is the penalty for not meeting the level requirement?

Depends. Melee weapons (depending on how close you are to the level requirement) will just have nerfed damage.

Rods/Wands/Bows/Xbows will not work at all.

I got a beastslayer (lvl30) on a 25k and there didn't seem to be much difference from when I had it on a 30k.

It was just a question of whether or not to pick up a lvl 100+ axe for the 30k.

A level 10 with a level 60 weapon will never hit more than like 2 damage. I wouldn't recommend a level 100 weapon for a level 30.

On any money makers I bot I usually upgrade from like a two handed sword around lvl 38 or 40 to lvl 45 2 handed weapon think its the dragon slayer. Just cuz I find it a waste of time to switch weapons so much. At those lvls and depending what you hunt te nerfed damage isn't too significant. And it's just botting easy shit anyways and will have the reqd lvl within like a day. I hate taking time to constantly switch weapons and worry about having to sell them. But dragon slayer should hold you over till avenger (can go with giant sword at 55
To upgrade a bit since its easy to sell for like 1k less then you paid for it on the market)

Really just comes down to how lazy you are. I run like 6 money maker accounts with 3 chars each and don't feel like swapping 18 weapons every few days
