View Full Version : Incorporate SMS Relay for "AFK" Response and Mobile Application Control?

So, I've been thinking some about botting from a convenience perspective. I thought it would be a good idea (if at all possible) to have an auto-response system that relays messages said on your screen to your cell phone via SMS, and allows you to reply to those messages via SMS. This will allow you to communicate with players via XenoBot while AFK botting, no matter where you are - at school or taking a shit. We've all seen "auto-response" scripts that are good enough to do the job, but it's a script. It does not adapt to conversation and seems too predictable.
DarkstaR, is this a possibility for the next version of XenoBot, or am I thinking too far outside the box on this one? I've got more ideas similar to this, if you'd like to speak about them. I think XenoBot needs a refresh. Leave your thoughts and feedback here. I thought maybe a simple mobile application connected with XenoBot would be a very unique and creative way to take XenoBot to the next level.

I have some pretty sexy ideas that somewhat resemble this one (SMS is expensive, so don't expect that), that may come in the future. For now, however, the focus is as follows:
Get Apophis stable and released
Fix bugs and optimize the bot
Get documentation online

SMS ? Probably a little bit too much. Controlling bot (or some parts of it) through browser would be something awesome though :)

Yeah, SMS can be pricey. I'm not sure if you're into mobile application development, but what about a mobile application designed specifically for XenoBot? Something people could download and install on their phones. Everyone has a cell phone and it could have many features, not only message relay.

That's what websites are for bby. No point in making apps when I can do a mobile-friendly site.

Ah, so all of this is possible through a website? I didn't think of that. I suppose having some sort of portal to control the bot while away from the computer would be a neat thing to have. You should considering doing something like that. :)

That's a future plan for XenoMonitor, which is something that will come in later releases of Apophis. Before I add that, however, I'll be adding XenoChat.

ok, following the crazy idea train, i have always used Epicbot for Runescape, which was just a java color bot, but in it you could have several runescape tabs, just like a regular browser, very convenient
DarkstaR what about an external, MC-like tool that does this? multi-tab management, with the new reconnect system it could be a blast, and all other bots to the past :D

since you're gonna make Xenochat, I'll take it as you have to connect to a certain "server" right? Does this mean we're also gonna have navigation?
Navigation as in see enemies/friends on you're minimap/combo bot trough the navgiation etc?
