Should the botting community feel a sense of guilt when botting? Are we, as this community the cause of this games downfall?

I do not bot, as I have never had the time to look into how this program works fully and how it would operate on the client and I am also too impatient. But I am an avid tibia player, I enjoy participating in wars and have been online since around 2002.

However I do use these forums to trade with the botting community, so you could say I am one of you haha. I ask from a neutral standpoint. What impact do you believe the botting community is causing the game?

Are you, as botters. Simply trying to keep up with the todays standards and expectations?

(I hold no bias, I just wish to understand the botting communites standpoint and why players have turned to this function)

Not everyone bots for the sole reason of having an advantage, I personally always enjoyed idle games, whenever i played an rpg i would go with the guy that could summon beasts with an AI to fight for him.

It's just fun to run and maintain your system of botting characters, its like your factory, its your company and it is profiting.

No. Most of the people who "initiated" the era of the bot have now retired or simply don't use them any more. As a community today you should feel like part of something positive. XenoBot is a small community and has a lot more to offer than for instance iBot, WindBot, etc. None of them have the same tight friendships that exist here, nor the same close relationship between developer and end user.

I should point out this is from a perspective of having botted for many years, and knowing that the real reason that botting is so big today is that it had a huge uptake caused by people like myself being too unexpecting of CIP.

I simply bot because I cannot be bothered to level up characters myself in a boring style, I have moneymaker and a main account which I never used bot on and I'm not planning to.
Having moneymakers pretty much releases the stress that you have to profit as a level 100~ and all you think is 'i'll get the money back I lost over night'

Bot didn't destroy cipsoft aswell as cipsoft didn't destroy bots.
