Routers work best from top to bottom, if possible i'd suggest to put it upstairs instead.

Your router has outputs where you put an ethernet cable and it will split the connection with it.

As mentioned its true they work best if placed at higher floor, though not always this is possible in houses depends on where the shit comes in.

Go to your local tech store and just ask for it, it's pretty cheap like 10$ and you can get a splitter, cost depends on how many you want to split to. Often though the router has in-built ethernet cable outputs where you can put like up to 5 or 6, simply depends on the router.

buy a small 5 port switch and use that to split your ethernet. It's the fastest, most efficient, and easiest way to do it. And it's pretty cheap.

Probably a access point,a switch or wifi booster to help boost ur wifi connection and also if u have a spare router,u can configure it to act as a switch..u can google it if u dont understand what i mean..

If you have DSL Router, with ethernet port to connect to the Internet then you can upload OpenWRT or LuCi or Gargoyle custom firmware, the last one I have on my Router and its better than orginal software.

A cheap wifi booster should do, you can probably find one for 40$ if not less.
