Problems with high ping need help

So I am playing on Rowana and the last week I have been getting like massive ping spikes and freezes, I know the server is located in the UK and im close to the east coast. I've used pingzapper and it's normally worked fine until recently, so then i tried WTFast and i still get the same result. Sometimes i spike up to anywhere between 500-1000 ping. Does anyone have any tips that they could share or something I could do differently to reduce this ping to like at least a constant 100-200 so its playable? Im already using the leatrix latency thing as well. This evening I also got "game world is not responding" like 4x and had to relog.

I was sure if there was something I can do with my router or not either. All help is appreciated.

Close everything that is using an internet connection, that includes streaming videos/movies and games.

There's a thread on these forums somewhere that increases the rate at which packets are sent or some shit try search it im busy atm no time to find :D
