View Full Version : I've been out of the game for 7 months, what did I miss?

Around this time last year I started up Tibia again, made an account on Aurera and started beasting it. Got several characters beyond 100 with the help of Xeno. Now, that I've finally been able to get some downtime in RL and refresh my PC, I was thinking about starting up again.

Looks like my world rules have been changed up quite a bit. No more 2x XP. Experimental PVP rules. Don't get me wrong, a good ol' bash and slash is cool, but I'm much more interested in beast leveling characters.

So, what have I missed since February? Where should I be building my characters? I feel like every time I take a break from this game I need to relearn everything...

The 2x has been removed and CipSoft has their reasons, I cannot disagree with them either, it was eventually bound to happen.
Aurera and Aurora are both currently in preview phase to test retro-PVP, which will be a new world type coming soon.
The retro-PVP system is intended to imitate the PVP system of the past, primarily around the 8.4 - 8.6 region.
Animations have been changed, some like it, some don't; but it should be the least of all your concerns. The only thing that everyone hates is the new magic wall.
Content-wise on mainland, only high level cities/quests have been added (Roshamuul, Rathleton, Oramond).
Content-wise elsewhere, Rookgaard has been pretty much "removed". A new beginner island called Dawnport was made to allow players fiddle with vocations, even at level 1.

But right now, the biggest hype is retro-PVP servers, which is expected to be open sometime next week.

Even on American servers, I lag a lot. I am forced to use a program/proxy - LowerPing.com. So, I just play EU servers because there are less BR's and friends from Xeno.

Oh cool. The guys on Rowana are now fighting for leadership on Saphira (my server), rannhide rule Rowana right? Anyway, are you botting on Rowana at all or is it pure manual?

Manual. I'm offline training now.

I'll probably start botting a little bit after I get higher in levels. It becomes too time consuming.

Oh i see, is that high skilled noob char you bought on Rowana then? I might make a char there and see how the server is.

I moved everything there. But yeah, it's in Rowana.

Pretty much. I'm in the States and I lag on both of them.

The US servers have random lag spikes, and EU servers have more consistent lag. I actually think EU servers are better. If you live in New York, the US servers will be better. That is where their host is - Washington D.C. and New York.
