View Full Version : What do we know about the current mass-deletions?

I've been reading a lot about how tibia is mass deleting accounts now a days... So I thought it would be great to start this thread so that we could share all we know about what is happening and share tips on how to reduce the risk on getting banned.

While I know there is a pinned thread that covers this topic, I think the thread is a little outdated. The more updated information we have, the less risk we will have.

So far what I've read is:
1. If one of your accounts is deleted, Cipsoft will also delete the accounts with similar names and presumably that match a login IP.
2. Possible Cipsoft is logging our IP and Graphic card id when we signin. (? - That's something I read, but I can't be sure)
3. Even your accounts that never used bot are getting deteled if Cipsoft has a way to match your bot account with your main accounts. (This fact supports point #2)

Open questions:
- Would somebody with more information help us shed some light on these theories?
- What are some good tips to reduce the risk of getting all your accounts deleted?
- Some say that using 2 computers works fine to avoid getting your accounts deleted, has someone tried it?

1. Not really, I think this depends on the amount of reports chars get.
2. Should they check ID I think most of us would be fucked more or less...
3. I believe that when they are going to delete someone major, high level, they might actually check IP to be certain about it but I doubt they check graphic card.

3+. Not sure about this but I also believe they check bank trasactions and parcels sent, don't know if it's paranoia but I have 2 bank accs. First the moneymakers transfers all to bank acc no. 1 then I don't transfer it via the banking system but rather toss the cash over in a backpack to the bank acc no. 2.

On the open questions:
- Tip no. 1 try to play in the shadows and avoid player contact as much as possible --> lower risk of getting reported. Hidden spawns are excellent, don't go for the ones with best exp/profit.
- I use 2 computers can't say it helped much, some accs got deleted others did not, which would suggest as previously mentioned that they don't check IP or graphic card.
- (Don't know which server you play at but...) If people try to kill your char, I usually let them kill it as most people just report instead when they fail to kill you - I usually end up making profit anyway.

Thank you so much for the response, and for sharing your knowledge and your opinions!

You might be right in that they don't check ip and/or graphic card id or any other id, maybe what they really check is the information you give them, like registering the accounts with your real information, which they can match with any other account that you've registered with the same info.

A few more questions:
1. Has anyone been banned for using the bot just for the healer? I remember there was the idea that doing "impossible" actions could ultimately get you banned, like doing 2 actions at the same time... so using a healer could possible lead to this, no?
2. Has the rate in which people is banned increase lately or is cipsoft just banning high profile accounts which leads to people speaking out more and more?

mikeki Another thing, I used same email to mass produce chars for hellgate task, they got deleted like flies barely got 10 chars to main before acc was deleted... Not sure whether it's because they're trying to protect hellgate task or because of same email though.

I highly doubt they'd be looking into specific cases such as "where the character has been botting" and so forth. As far as they tell us it's still their automatic system that ban people and is yet to be believed. Also you're only allowed to use one e-mail adress per account, so mass producing characters on the same account would be highly suspicious as you'd be registered for insomniac entries (depending how you bot them of course). Question is however if this is also in effect for registration of name and adresses throughout multiple accounts, which then could be in danger for as well. I don't believe so, but that's just my point of view.

1. there's not any current automatized shit
2. reports do work
3. acc creation has an automatic detection system
4. they personalize the bans.

I agree with Stusse here, supposing everything is using the automated system, I highly doubt they will be looking at where you bot or what are your intentions for creating that many accounts.

Given all the information and knowledge you guys have shared I would say that there is an automated system, the system most likely starts creating a heuristic on how probable is that your account is a bot, and in order to delete your account the score needs to be very high (otherwise there would be many false positives, and people that have never botted in their lives would be banned for no reason), I would say that there are some factors that would make this heuristic be more relaxed (so a lower score would get you banned) for example, based on the reports your accounts receive, how many of the characters of that account receive a report, etc. etc.

Also based on the new reports, I would say they have recently implemented an heuristic on how probable is for one account to be a sibling of another account (1 person owning 2 or more accounts) and that way they can create a new heuristic on how probable is that the given set of 'sibling' accounts are a bot cluster, that way they would be able to analize data per cluster instead of per individuals, yielding a more accurate heuristic and therefore a more efficient algorithm, this could also explain why some main accounts and 'sibling' bot accounts that people don't use that often are getting banned too, because they have a high probability of being in that set.

NOTE: This is all an analysis made by me, by no means I'm saying that this is what really happens, but this is my theory so far.
I would like to know what other people think about this, how can we complement it, create a hypothesis and validate it.

I would also like some clarification on #1. So far i'm only using Xeno for the healing, looting, alarms, etc. to enhance gameplay and avoid death, not AFK botting. Would be sad to get banned for only using these features and not actual AFK leveling/botting.
