View Full Version : Are cip doing much about botters?

Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've even thought about Tibia! I think the last time I "played" (aka botted) Tibia was back just before the dice got removed from the game. I made a lot of gold in the months prior to that from a dice script I wrote for myself, but once the dice was removed I lost all motivation for the game.
I'm wondering if it's worth coming back to Tibia to bot up to chars? Are cip getting any better at detecting bots or is it still fairly safe to do?
Thanks,
Sarah

They made some kind of tool catching low level characters (mostly free accounts).

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you know anywhere I can read a bit more about the new tool? If I do decide to start botting again, I'll probably start with 10 - 15 accounts all as free accounts and make them earn their own premium :p I sold all the gold I made from the dice botting so I'm broke in game and not going to give my own money to cip

Lol, Goodluck on that. Donīt want to discourage you but I doubt you would even get close to half a premium before getting delited :p! There is no info about any tool cip is using. Just own experience. I lost like 10 chars trying to get them from 1-50.
You can try but you have to take a lot more precautions now, as CIPs tool definitely seems to be improved compared to several years ago. For your new accounts I suggest short botting sessions in a variety of spawns.

Hi Sarah,
I would not recommend AFK-botting for lengthy periods of time. That is when most botters are noticed. I've been able to avoid detection by simply being at the computer while botting and creating extra features within scripts that acts like a player would if interacting with other players. So, it takes some extra work to decrease odds of detection.
CipSoft has done quite a lot with detection over the past few years. Their "automatic detection system" has been active for many years, and it works fairly well. The report system was introduced to encourage players to report violators. However, the report system also acts as a data collection tool for their automatic detection system. http://i59.tinypic.com/2i03rea.png The system analyzes packets and character behavior prior to and thereafter receiving a Bot/Cave Bot report. This information is then fed into their automatic detection system, and is then processed. It is quite easy to identify botting when you look at a graph of character behavior over a period of time.
Hope this has helped.
Good luck,
J.Dre
