The best weapon for hunting is umbral master bow with crystalline arrows.
The best weapon for pvp/boss Killing is umbral master crossbow with infernal bolts.
Best eq is elite Draken helmet, depth lorica, prismatic-/yalahari legs and prismatic boots.

When in a mass boss scenario, like Ferumbras or Morgaroth, the master cross and infernals are better. But if you are in a moderate solo boss scenario, like finding Shlorg or Zushuka then bow is better. Sustained constant high hits. If you can afford it. ALWAYS have both master cross and bow on you at all times. It's what I do on my rp. As well as armor changes. I never remove Depth Lorica. But I have 3 helmets depending on what I am doing; Elite Draken, Zaoan and Depth Galea. Same for boots. I have guardian boots, Draken boots, Soft boots, Firewalker boots and boots of haste at all times. I boss hunt a lot so I have many other armor switches or necklace/ring switches based on current area.
I have a good keyboard with multiple hotkey settings, can have it use the shift hotkeys on instant press with g1-12 and h1-12. Only thing I don't carry always is 1000's of one bolt or arrow. I'll have 200~ Crystalline arrows, and cap with infernals. Or vice versa. I like to change up sometimes and hunt with infernals xd

PVM: Mycological Bow + Crystalline Arrows
PVP: Thorn Spitter + Infernal Bolts

But if you are rich enough, you should get umbral master bow/crossbow.
