How do I start the cave bot

I am new to boting and this new program ''xenobot''

I have the trail version to see if I like it. But I was wondering how can I set it to attack monsters, as well as so it can eat food from the monster loot.

Thanks ben. got it all set up. but for some reason i cannot find where i can use the ''stairs'' any clue on how to do that? please?

You have to use the stand to use stairs. For example, move your character so you're just 1 square below the stairs and then add a Stand North waypoint.
