Looks like this is the main payment method for people who are not regulars here. I just registered recently and am trying to set up an account with them so I can start trading with folks on here.

Skrill asked for a couple of documents proving identity and address. I provided in email, account confirmed in three days. I add 2 cards and bank info. They are having issues loading funds, and ACH is not working for some reason. The website looks cheap and sketchy, seemingly designed by college students. After reading reviews online, I am VERY concerned about the security of my personal information on this website. It just doesn't look very legit or reliable. Note: I am from the US and we more commonly use PayPal. I am aware that PayPal protects its buyers unreasonably.

That said, have any of you had difficulty with this service? Whether it's sending payments, receiving payments, adding funds, withdrawal funds, etc. Unexpected fees (monthly, randomly, etc.)? Missing funds, excessive delayed access to your funds, unreliable customer service? The reviews make me really want to just do what I need and then cancel the account

Thanks for sharing your experience in advance

I used it for my last trade. I had a little trouble getting my account set-up but after calling customer support everything was worked out. Overall I'd use it again. But yea I guess people like using it over paypal because its easier to get chargebacks on paypal.

I am wondering what happens if someone reports their credit card lost/stolen after making a skrill purchase. Can they scam the seller this way or will skrill let them keep the money?

Yeah, my account on Skrill is "verified" but they won't let me upload funds for some reason. They haven't responded to my messages asking why. It's been 3-4 days.

Skrill reviews and, like i said, sketchy and cheap appearance make me really nervous. Also it's not really well-known by people from the US. Hoping to get it corrected so I can buy/trade with people here.

That's a good question, about the CC. Technically CC users are protected from theft. But I think Skrill prevents anyone from clawing their transfers back. Perhaps this conflict (Skrill choosing to protect receiver of funds) is why the US is not allowing it to be accessed so easily? Either way, Skrill is pretty crappy from my early experience.
