50 is what mine is set to, unless i'm playing another game like Heroes of Newerth or Black ops 3 then I switch it to OpenGL so it doesn't crash.

Something like 30 and above your eye's don't notice a difference supposedly, it's smooth for me at 50 though.

Depends on your monitor. Most monitors wont go above 60/144 fps.

That they can display, yes. But performance wise on the computer I can not tell a difference between unlimited and 144/60/30.

You can notice it if your fps jumps around though, like massive spikes between the hundreds.
