Well, i know it's about vb, but i guess this forum has the reputation system option. We would need a nice reputation system too =)

reputation systems are useless, and they did took advantage of this in neobot, i will suggest a rank status, with higher posts

@about reputation system
i think its good think, but you need some care from moderator's side to prevent abusing (like rule on neobot forum, you cant beg everyone for rep)

It's your own responsibility to research and judge if a player is trustworthy or not. On neobot forums I'm sure we all remember the situation involving Quadee (a scamming moderator).

So even if a player has 1k reputation it doesn't automatically make that person trustworthy.

I find this true as well, I remember on neo forums my reputation was heading south because my Display Picture was of a Lemon. (Ye, happen twice -.-).

A scammer will be always a scammer doesn't matter it's reputation or ranks. High levels of that can be easily reached by them.

Reputation points surely makes it much easier to secure things. Even as you many say, there are scammers in every rep scale, a scammer wont get higher once he started to scam, therefor reputation system would prolly easy things up! btw first post in this forums:D

The thing about rep system aswell is that people don't give +rep for anything but as soon as they don't agree with you it's -rep. So the rep system is really flawed.

Yeah but discussing the rep system deserves a thread for itself imho. Because some people want it, some people don't so it's good to discuss it without getting "interupted" by another convo regarding another forum suggestion.

Then the best way I think will be to also add a poll onto such a thread

I also think a rank system or a controlled rep system, so people can acctualy report bad reps,

on neofum it got abused, and it just takes the fun away when being on forum,

Well, I think that could exist such thing, but only the moderators or the admin could rep people based in informations or contribuition of them to the forum.
Like this, we could trust a little more in that person with hight rep, because them gained it trhough the owners of the forum.

I think there should be special ranks given to persons.
Since everyone has his own specialty they should be able to get thoose ranks.

Example!

Trusted trader - someone who is a trusted trader and did alot of succesfull trades.
Scripter - someone who is known as a good scripter and can help the community with scripts
Community Helper - someone who is always there for the community to awnser there questions

This is just an example.
And maybe it is possible to have 2 ranks. just like Trusted trader and Scripter. so you can have more specialties.
