Heres an idea which might move things forward a little, a developer account.

What's different from normal account? Basically as a developer account you are able to use 2 copies of the bot at a slightly reduced rate. It costs $8 per month (or thereabouts) and only one copy of the bot can be running at once (You can't be botting on one PC whilst making scripts on another, for instance).

Why? Folks like myself have several computers... I have one which is running all day, and I use it for my main developing and what not. I also have a second PC, which I use for little more than surfing the internet at the minute. My developer PC is capable of handling a lot more than I'm currently doing on it. It runs at about 0.6kWh under "normal use", and that gets expensive if you leave it on all day & night. That means each day I'd use 14.4kWh, or £2.88 per day in electricity (at a rate of £0.20 per kWh). That's £86.40 a month. My second PC is a low power consumption machine. It uses about 0.2kWh under "normal use", so £28.80 per month. I could make a massive saving by being able to bot on my second PC, and just use my main PC for scripting. I'd rather give you a portion of the money, than give it all to the energy company. I should point out that I outright refuse to script on my second PC, it is horrible for that as it is effectively a laptop.

So, thinking realistically, I don't think this will do any harm to the sales etc, but it would allow people to use 2 copies of the bot on seperate PCs, as a developer style account. It would save a little money for those who have to buy two licenses due to having two homes, and it would bring in some extra revenue from those who would like to use it.

Opinions?

Tell me about it dude. I spend a LOT of money on electric and gas bills, problem is we got no oil, so we gotta ship it in from every other country, makes it super expensive.

I pay 40$ for electricity, and that includes hot water and everything in my apartment, and that's for 3 months.

Why don't you just buy another license? That's two licenses for $11.50. It may be $3.50 more than you'd like, but you would still save quite a bit. That being said I don't think this has a huge appeal and would most likely be used between multiple people to share accounts.

Hah, I feel like I'm being mugged over here :(

The idea of a developer account is that although it can be used on 2 PCs, it can't be used on both at the same time, that would eliminate a certain amount of account sharing, and it makes it easier if I can just have 1 forum account, pay 1 subscription, and ofc just that little bit cheaper :)

I would really want to see that one coming out, since I like to bot on PC and try my scripting on lap.

Since I am a "Polack" and I am a student, $3.50 makes like three days of living for me... :D
Nevertheless you are right about people sharing accounts, but maybe there might be some solution like... geo checker? To block two people from different countries/cities to connect to that account?

Been using Xenobot for about a week now and I must say that I totaly agree with this one. I have a laptop that I take to school and do botting on, but its so slow that I cant use it to anything else than putting it in the corner and make it play by itself. I also have a PC at home where I do programming and such. Would love to be able to use my home PC to scripting and testing since its a lot of back and forth trying things.

At the beginning I was able to switch between my laptop and home PC a couple of times, but now I have to wait 4 day until next time.

So totaly supported

kamerat install something like teamviewer on your home machine and always bot on that one and just connect to that one though your laptop, problems solved.

Good idea! Theres just one problem. The reason why I bot on my laptop at school is because my girlfriend dont trust my computer. Shes afraid it will catch on fire while we're not home :/

I know, seems like bad excuse, but true story :<
