You're going to have to change your IP address so if you have a static one that means it's always the same i'm pretty sure that to change it you have to call your service provider or restart/re set up your router :)

And if you don't want them to get your IP again don't go on skype with them or messengers since you can easily get someones IP e.g. with a skype resolver takes 2 minutes if you're online ^^

Also forgot Ventrilo easy again to obtain your IP from that i'm pretty sure

A tutorial I found didn't try it but meeh here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l30o3ViE0n4

Also do not go into liks they send you, even if they look like safe ones. Such a links often contain IP logger.

aaaaanndd if you cant change your ip by putting off your modem for 12h~ then contact your provider - and if u are getting pinged from a home connection , check the ip on some ip tracker and u can see from what provider your "pinger" pings you and you can just send your logs to that provider and they will probrably take care of it

But at least in my country having static IP's is illegal cuz per definition you are then a server (for which count other laws and taxes probably). So here the routers disconnects/reconnects once a day to get another ip but within a certain ip group by the provider. Am i safe after this reconnect? cuz the ip changed? Or can they still ping me cuz my ip is nearly the same?
And what if I get my old IP back after some days then I'm probably pingable again?

If u have a I.P. Randomizing modem its practically impossible that you will have the same i.p. twice ^^
