what virus scanner do you use?

Hello,

So for 2 years I've been using Bitdefender as my scanner cuz it should be one of the best.
The last few years I've been lagging like crazy and I thought it was my connection.

Now I have moved and bought a laptop without bitdefender, and I had the occasional lag.
I have now installed Bitdefender again and I have lags and freezes, could it be caused by the virus scanner?

Anyone any clue on what to do?
What virus scanners do you use and do you have lags and freezes ?

malwarebytes anti malware

I use the paid version of Kaspersky which have worked fine. But ultimately I use the common sense asa virus protection. If there is any file you want to be sure I suggest you to use VirusTotal.com to scan it. It uses most of the anti virus programs PLUS that it records the virus if found which makes it easy to find a virus using the same algorithm next time even if it's crypted.

Malwarebytes is the best, hands down.

I'm surprised no one uses Microsoft essentials that is by far the best free virus scanner

I don't use anything. I've never had a problem.

I heard about BitDefender, pretty good AV, personally I don't use any AV, cuz I'm trying to don't download any shitty files, cracks, keygens or whateva.

well yeah but I use torrent etc so I'm rather safe than sorry
