Lately there haven't been many good releases in my opinion. The Matrix trilogy is always good, and anything funny like harold and kumar (all three) pick of destiny is pretty good. my favourite movie has to be braveheart though lol
I watched a pretty good comedy/horror movie last week called Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Pretty fricken hilarious.

It truly is a masterpiece, even if its a bit hard to understand :) Its about how Men function, Freedom and the illusion about Freedom. I mean men who function like robots in this consumer world leaves everything to become free and join project mayhem and... again becomes just a robot in the project... Dont you find any beauty in that? Or how, at least the second time i watched it(it gets better every time) its so clear that Tyler and the main character is the same person( even this gives it away, he doesnt even have a name!) I could name many reason on how i love this movie, but i instead will let you choose those reasons for yourself, WATCH IT!
Maybe not the best, nor my favorite of all time, but I think Shutter Island was pretty good.
