According to Wikia:
-Crystalline Arrow has 65 atk vs Prismatic Bolt's 66 atk
-Mycological Bow's stats are: range 6, atk +4, Hit% +4 vs Thorn Spitter's: range 6, atk +9, Hit% +1
So overall, Prismatic Bolts have one more atk and when used with Thorn Spitter five more atk than Crystalline Arrows with Myco Bow. It's only the Hit% that would make Myco Bow more lucrative.
However, I guess that it's a fair trade-off for 6 atk more.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for me it's still Crossbow > Bow.

Look at tibia-stats, because crossbow hits less often the average damage is higher on bows

Thorn Spitter is better for PVP fighting, Mycological Bow is better for hunting.
