Script won't execute.. Pls help me !

I was just about to test this ( http://forums.xenobot.net/showthread...ll=1#post57087 ) script when i get this message wich i have got by many scripts.

This error message shows when you try to execute the .lua. Yes i got Forgee.lua, syntaxlualib, full mini map (new).

So if someone could just check this out i would be very greatfull.

Its wierd, its been downloaded and used by many. Nobody has has this problem before. Most likely have you changed the script which causes the problem. Try downloading if again from my thread. Im at work atm with no computer (using phone). Will check it out when i get home.

I got the same error msg with @Tibtrak pirates script. it's the lua files who is the problem.

Double post.

I've tried to download it again but it still wont work, just reinstalled the bot to. wont work either.

You must be doing something wrong. Nobody else has has this problem. try downloading somebody elses script.

This has nothing to do with tibtraks script. I do not know how to fix it though..

You dont need syntaxlualib anymore its native in the bot. Delete it and try again

Still got the error. The most of my other scripts can i execute without any problems.

Damn, im so much in need of this script.

so @Tibtrak you got no idea how to fix it?

Sorry, can't say I know whats causing your problem.
Like Jacob Miller said, I dont think there is something wrong with my script either, cuz it works for "everybody" else.
You said you were able to execute MOST of your scripts, does that mean that you have the same problem with scripts thats not made by me aswell? If so, take a look at those other scripts aswell and compare them with mine and eachother, maybe you'll find something similar with those scripts, to make it easier to locate where the error is. Can't help you anymore than this ;/

I have had the same problem yesterday and worked fine just changing the name file.
Anyways, I've got a friend whose 99% of the scripts are not working just saying "This is an error with user-input and should not be reported as a bug with XenoBot." So it would be good if you could give us some answers in order to fix this.

Ofc I would help him if i knew what was wrong.

His error doesn't tell anything at all, making it hard to figure out what it is, when it doesn't happend for me nor most ppl. He or you doesnt explain much either so...

I cannot explain much about the problem, I've checked how my friend opens the script and he does exactly the same as me, I've checked Script folder, the .lua code and such things, all is equal than me, but his script doesn't work, keeps saying the same message.

Okey Kim, does this happend with most scripts from the forum?

Sure, all the scripts were from the forum. In fact, it was the Edron dlair for mages and Nighstalker Vandura Mountain.

@Tibtrak this is a script that i have no problems to execute http://forums.xenobot.net/showthread...cripts-by-Joey (it's the one for EK).

I have really tried to compare the scripts but im not so good at it. So if u please could take some time and compare them it would be gold worth for me.

Kim solved his problem by removing the dofile("syntaxlualib") from his scripts...

The reason you get that message is because it tries to dofile a script you don't have, open the lua file and search for dofile and see which one it is and get it from the forums.

I've asked him about that several times and he says he got the Forgee.lua. Which is the only dofile in my scripts that he aslo seem to have problems with.

But since you @Infernal Bolt say thats the problem aswell. I'm gonna ask again.

1, Are you executing the dofile (Forgee.lua)? You should not do that. 2, Are you sure that you've placed the Forgee.lua file in the right folder? Should be located in documents -> xenobot -> scripter.

I'll need specific system information, file paths, file names and entire scripts. I'd prefer to see both ones that do work and don't work so I have something to compare.

I believe he said that he couldnt get any of my scripts to work. They all have Forgee.lua as dofile. Here's a script I believe he used: http://forums.xenobot.net/showthread...ll=1#post59923

The one he posted doesnt use Forgee.lua. Seems to me thats the problem, but as I stated above, he's said several times that he has it.

I got forgee.lua in the right place. documents>xenobot>scripts. I running windows 7. So if it works for everybody (execpt me) it needs to be some kind of problem for me? I'v tried everything i can come up with but nothing works.

But i have also tested some others from @Tibtrak but i can't get them to work. I've really need this to work couse he's scripts seems to be very great and profesional.

I can't execute that lua either, I'll modify it until I get it to work.

Edit:
Nvm didn't have forgee lua, that was the problem for me anyways, removed dofile and it worked just fine.

Yeah, I know alot of ppl downloaded that script, and I've had all good response at it, so I dont think it is the script thats wrong. But I can't say it 100% for sure either as I have no idea whats causing it the problem of Smeekarn ;/ I'm definatly no expert at this;P

Edit: just checked it, 50 ppl have downloaded that script and its uploaded for the 3th time so its even more ppl thats used the script. I would believe more people would report it if it was something wrong with the script.

Edit2: Ah, just read ur message again and saw that I got it all wrong the first time. I thought you said it was something wrong with the script, but you didn't. hehe^^

So i should just remove the "dofile.(forgee.lua)" part and it maybe works? Or did i get this wrong?

Yeah, remove the dofile('Forgee.lua') for the .lua script and see if you manage to execute it then. If you do, then we know where ur problem is located at.
