Old Tug days, I do miss them so
Miht come to london again this summer. I'll catch up with you again if I do. I'd love to go to that wagamama something place we went to last time.
@XtrmJosh
So, lets clear some shit up.
@Luls, @Aydin, @HolmaN, @DPK = Truth. I will back up all of these statements about TibiaUG. Everything ended with a huge falling out between everyone. I stayed out of the ordeal, I wasn't a part of the backstabbing or scamming, but when it all happened, I had pretty much finished the first prototype of XenoBot and was forced to leave TUG because Hux insisted that I become an admin and share XenoBot with him in exchange for his forum as the main forum, and I declined. I made this forum, I started this business, and, after that, remaining at TUG was awkward. Don't get me wrong, TUG was a great place, and I met many of my close friends there: @Luls, @Messed Around, @DPK, @Aydin, and many others. Some friends, like @HolmaN and @SamDaMan had actually come to TUG with me from OtLand, so I had known them even longer. When I started XenoBot.net with @Zyphrus (he helped me get the site off the ground and get a domain name, since I was a broke kid at the time), all of these friends from TUG came over. I'm not sure if it was out of loyalty (I'd like to think so), boredom (quite possible), or just a sheer hatred for what TUG became (even I had a falling out with the admin Caid, who said a bunch of things about my at-the-time childish nature, which were probably true), but they came. And XenoBot forums were made. That's what TUG was. It was this group of friends who bonded over Tibia jokes, misspelling Sam as SMA, and making fun of Swordsman of Hell (also a good friend, now). It was a clan of non-pvp noobs (Olympa crew), pro pvpers (me), and some OT makers who met on a forum. We held annual yearbooks, Tibian competitions, lotteries, and all collectively hated a user named FENOM. What I'm trying to say is that, in all this scamming business, TUG is irrelevant. None of us there were trying to scam. We were kids playing a game and making friends. Overall, that forum was a good place, with good people, and the memories are good. It was the seed that made this community, and I'm grateful for that.
When discussing this scamming shit, we need to talk about the people specifically involved. Not the community. With that said, I'll address the issue concerning me:
Quite a while back, I'm not sure when, but I'd say about 6 years ago, I helped @Colossus - the owner of TibiaMultiClient - by providing him with and MC and the source-code to the MC. He had hinted at adding some "extra functionality", but I was busy creating the first version of XenoBot and was a bit suspicious, so I turned him down and said I could only provide the MC. He said he and Wobbz needed another program, and before asking why, I declined. I knew @Wobbz was an account seller, I put a few puzzle pieces together, and I decided that even talking about it further could be a risk. And, honestly, I didn't want to know. I respected both @Colossus and @Wobbz, and, being the kid I was, didn't want to tarnish that perception if my hunch turned out to be true. Beyond that point, I don't know what happened. Those two seemed to be legit, just running their sites and selling Tibia goods for quite a while, and no-one knew anything. My suspicion faded, and I more or less forgot about the incident. Now, with this thread coming up, I've been reminded of this time of doubt I had about them. Is it true? Is it bullshit? I really don't know either way. What I can say, though, is that with such an accusation, I would expect more proof than what is given. I can't say that the suspicion I had and this thread would be a likely coincidence, but I also can't take your word for it. Basically, unless you can provide hard proof or at least more witnesses, I'll have to close this thread and take action against the parties involved in spreading any lies.
And so ends my trip down nostalgia alley.

EDIT: Just recalled the part about "breaking into TUG's servers". Lolwut? I had FTP/SSH access to their servers and was the equivalent of a high-level moderator, as they hosted the website for TUGBot and I acted as the admin for that website and that part of the forums. I didn't @Wobbz and co any data about the TibiaUG users, and even if I did, it wouldn't have been breaking in. Regardless, though, VBulletin stores passwords using a salted md5 hash. Admins cannot see peoples passwords, as brute-force is the only way to reverse the hashes. Even if I did want to steal people's passwords, I would have had to brute-force these hashes. Six years ago, this wasn't feasible. Today, with my 3.4GHz, 8-core, 4-GPU machine, I can use oclHashcat to crack a 9-character salted hash in about 1 hour (remember, I'm a security engineer at a security company, it's my job to know this). Back in 2010/2011, around when all of this was falling out, I had a 2-core 2.7ghz processor and used on-board graphics. Cracking a 9-character salted hash on that machine would take so long I don't even know the numbers, but its well over 1 month. Why would I run my only computer at 100% CPU for 1 month just to get ONE password, assuming the password was less than 9 characters? Furthermore, a hardware setup equivalent to what I have now would probably be in the four or five figures back then, making it too expensive to do. The claim about the keylogger is at-least believable (though still didn't involve me) but this one is down-right absurd.
This takes me back.
hahahah i remember this.
Just to clarify, i <3 @Luls and the tibiaUG community was going down the shitter before he started doing this. Also, without what Luls did, i dont think a lot of people here would have found their ways here so quickly. That was some god like advertising if ive ever seen it.
idk what happened but i had a post typed out with quotes and shit and it says i need approval before its posted and then i double posted for some reason so i edited this post and now im typing this and so no ones gonna know what im talking about.
Long story short, I loled @ old school tibia life
This is like the origin story of the dying TUG community that left and formed Xeno. Hollywood plz make a movie. 10/10 would see.
