When you enter the portal, you become PVP-E enabled. Anyone can attack you without punishment.

That's how Cip will slow down level progression.

Lvl 999 Door Idea

Personally, I believe any player that achieves this task deserves great honor and recognition. I believe once you enter the teleporter, you get teleported to a dark dungeon where you meet Eremo (or another elder NPC), and he informs you of the task that lies ahead. You will fight one last battle, that to engrave yourself in the history of tibia. He will inform you of the demon that lies ahead and describe the way that he has plundered the lands of tibia. This is a quest done alone, as you must establish yourself as a hero among all tibians who have or ever will live. An epic battle must ensue and you must defeat this boss, and upon victory you will gain all but 100 experience needed for level 1000, and enter another teleporter.

Once you enter that teleporter, a server message will be sent across all chats to inform the players of what has happened, and all the kings and queens of all the towns in Tibia will be waiting for you in a castle treasure room to praise you with gifts for your honorable duty. Each king and queen will grant you with a unique gift, compiling to be a full set of equipment for level 999 only and a trophy/crown to showcase in your home. All items will be engraved with your name and date of achievement.

Furthermore, you will earn a statue outside the castle which will state the same information - Name and Day that you saved Tibia (This will appear after server save). A new garden called the Garden of Heroes should be created outside the castle so that all the statues can be placed in the same place. The first hero should have their statue in the middle while the others will line up around the first hero. The server will earn a month of some sort of regen and/or experience bonus as a celebration, and a tibia hall of fame should be created on the website describing all players (including a short biography of the character and date of achievement) that have achieved this accomplishment. Since you will have 100 experience to level, you can wait until the next day for your statue and call the whole town/friends together to take the screen shot of level 1000.

Finally, an npc should be added (or add text to existing ones) that can tell the tales of all the characters on the server that have achieved this task. This NPC will patrol/guard the garden of heroes. If no one has completed this achievemeent, the NPC will talk about how the dooms day is upon us unless a hero saves Tibia, or if it is completed you can have the NPC praise the heroes for saving beloved Tibia.

ya, i should've made it clear but the level cap should be 1000 IMO. It's ridiculous as it is but at that point, you should be capped as nothing in the game really poses much of a threat to you anymore. They can start making raids/boss waves for level 1000's only with increasing difficulties. I like the idea of granting them perma-premiums as well
