the rookie guard quest is pretty good experience, if you start out without any eq it's actually the fastest way out of rook.
yes sir, while one is respawning kill the other one and etc etc, about the exp im not really sure, but give it a try !
"New" spider cave should be around 4-5k/h
What i usually do is the first part of the tutorial (for level 2, rope and shovel, and farm like 12gp on the deer before going over to rook proper), then suicide at copper shield (i use the 12gp to buy a scythe), then at katana quest. Since you don't drop items in rook anymore, i just secured most of a full rook set, then i just bot some bug spawn or pacc wolves, and i'm out of rook pretty fast, but it takes some manualing.
LOL didn't know that you don't lose your backpack anymore, well thats good to know...
