Most efficient weapon for hellhounds

What is the most efficient way to hunt Hellhounds as paladin? Stars or bow?

I'm guessing bow due to the fact I'll be able to stay far away from them, but I'll be hunting them in Goroma which is kinda small/narrow.

Any input?

Depends on level.

I'd go with crossbow.
