Sounds like you've got it sorted. If you use the noob mage to train on I recommend spending some time on getting that balance right with his EQ vs your stance/weapon ect. You only want to hit him for 1-3hp, maybe a bit more if you feel lucky. :P
Otherwise you will just own him.
