Even with 2 matching 960s ssc with maybe some overclocking?
Even with 2 matching 960s ssc with maybe some overclocking?
Im going to be desinging clothing and t shirts and also doing a calendar and some modleing picture editng. My girlfriends owns 420 hunnys on facebook. The website will be up next week were just selling t shirts but it will be a shop soon and eventually a bar
It should be fine for anything other than 4k gaming. Not saying it won't work, just that it won't be ideal.
SLI has scaling issues in some games, and in rare cases, is not even supported in games (e.g. 960 SLI does not outperform a single 980 enough to justify it.) At 4k in Crysis 3, you can expect GTX 960 SLI to get an average of 10 FPS on the highest settings. The GTX 980 gets a 20 FPS average in the same game at the same settings. As you can see, 4k is extremely demanding.
However, with what you plan to use it for, it should be fine. Just don't expect to max out every game on 4k. That's an unrealistic expectation. You'll have to play on Low-Medium settings for a playable frame rate.
So would a gtx 980 be compatible with a 960 if i ran them both or do u recommend getting a whole new rig if i descide to go for 4k gaming. My main. Intentions is for graphics editing but in the future id like to upgrade to something spectacular. Currently i only play. Tibia. Id like to try some elder scrolls ormaybe battle. Field
Is there any computer screen you reccomend thTs very clear. Like high end pc screens
A cheap build? My build is superior to yours. The i5-4690k isn't weak.
You're asking him to buy a 380$ CPU and a 440$ GPU you want him to upgrade in a year. I have no idea what I'm talking about, I came here to fight? You're giving people bad advice. He wont disregard his future plans. I'm giving advice and letting him know, one of his options is a 980 and a 4K screen.
How do you know a 970 will satisfy his needs and he doesnt need a 980?
I just woke up so I'll make this short, lets say he doesnt want a 4k screen, there's 450$ left in the bank, go nuts. Still a better build than yours. You're putting way too much weight on the CPU, start focusing on the GPU. A 970 with a i7-4790k is pointless.
If you don't mind me asking, what's your specs?
There are new ASUS monitors coming out soon that are 1440p, 120Hz, etc. but start at like $599. Kind of pricey.
Superior? Are you trying to look like an idiot, or does it just come naturally? You do not know anything about hardware. Just stop. Read my post more carefully, and stop making stuff up.
P.S. I won't respond to anymore of your idiocy. Just isn't worth the trouble on a cell phone. When you decide to grow up, do some research into the aforementioned companies and their products, and then maybe we can have a mature conversation.
Not sure how a double post showed up. My cell is horrible for vBulletin, lol.
yeah it seems like monitors are pretty expensive now adays lol.
Those types of monitors are targeted more toward enthusiasts whom plan on spending north of $2500 on a system. It's a bit ridiculous for someone who spent $1200~ on a system to then purchase a monitor for more than half that for gaming.
Unfortunately, your system won't do well at 4k. 960SLi should run okay with 1440p, though. For a gamer in your position, I'd suggest you just purchase a 120Hz+/3D monitor at 1080p and enjoy the higher refresh rate. The higher resolution isn't worth the decreased performance for you. Lower settings (aka. lowering details to raise FPS) will contradict the resolutions purpose of increasing details in the first place. Just avoid 4k altogether.

I promise, you will get a lot more for your money.
You shouldn't listen to J.Dre, he is suggestion 30-70$ Optical Drives for every build,
he is bundling i5-4690k and 750ti together for 700$ builds,
970s with i7-4790k or i7-5820k,
16gb memory ram @ 2400mhz,
absolutetly fucking ridiculous, you've built many shitty rigs for people here, a lot of money wasted, you don't know as much as you think you do, you might aswell suggest prebuilt.
Booted a 10 year old pc cause I wanted to bot some while there's double exp and it was the only one I had access too. It can't even run Firefox for more than a minute without overheating but it can run three tibia clients on lowest graphics and with attached bots! This game truly has zero system requirements.
Except the space requirement for the client, which is huge compared to what I remember it being, lol.
I haven't played for 10 years either ;p and the only thing that has changed which might cause some fps drops are those new animations :D
@J.Dre , have you or anyone you known used any of the Sager brand laptops? Opinion on them?
TBH I've never heard of the brand which makes me a little hesitant.. Any info would help!
Sager, Clevo, ASUS, Aorus, etc. are all decent companies and all have decent products. Might be able to find you a decent laptop, but it depends mainly on what you plan to use it for. Give me some more information to work with, including how much you want to spend.
I was thinking about some parts and would like your feedback
Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell
AMD Radeon R9 270X
MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
what do you think of these parts
What are you going to do with it.
Based on the prices of those items, I'm going to guess your budget: Avoid those! There are better options for similar prices. Give me more info and a budget, and I can do better. But here's what I recommend:
CPU: The 4690k is a more suitable option.
GPU: I'd recommend the GTX 960 over the R9 270x. It is about the same price and performs better.
Motherboard: As for a budget motherboard, I recommend this one here: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboar...50+motherboard
Ok J.Dre got a serious post here. Me and my buddie are going to open a cyber cafe with 50 gaming computers. We have a 50,000 budget. But that has to include our internet. Wiring. 4 flat screen tvs and xbox ones and ps4s. we want to keep each build under 800$. But need optimal performance. Needs about 500 gb of storage to hold 20 games. Or is their a mass storage that can be linked to a server?
Sounds cool. Are you and your friend still in the planning stages, expecting to open next year? Or are you planning to open this year? This is relevant to my recommendation.
Also, have you considered just starting with 25-30 computers and using the resources for the other 20~ to create a more friendly environment (e.g. good furniture, TV's, other amenities, etc.)? The environment is an important factor.
Well the idea is to make it as user friendly as possbile. Were going to open in a year hopefully. Were in the exciting planning stage. I need at least 25 computers with room for expansion. Theres only one cyber cafe on oahu and they have 50 pcs there on the opposite side of oahu. I live in hawaii btw. Theirs 1 million people and over 100 schools. The location is 10 minutes from univeristy of hawaii and KCC the 2 largest colleges in the state. I wanted to do 2 Led themes. Red team and blue team. The pcs leds will be red and blue. The lights will be red and blue and their will be led strips on the desks
http://i.imgur.com/ZZPppyi.jpg
I want blue and red theme
blue and red led strip on the desks. Blue and red led keyboards and gaming mouses
and I'll do wristbands and Vip member accounts bonus's. I'll sell gaming equipment that they can bring and use. Tournament winners get free time and money. As well as equipment. Tournaments are weekly
damn i'd even go there to play some league.
In all honesty, now is not a good time to be purchasing hardware, especially considering you're doing so for a long-term investment. By the time you open, the hardware you would have purchased for your grand opening would be obsolete. NVIDIA Pascal (Q4 2015/Q1 2016) is reported to more than double the performance of NVIDIA Maxwell. You should consider pushing back the plans until June of 2016 and hold off on purchasing any capital. In doing so, you will literally have the most advanced and high-tech cyber cafe in your entire city because you would have anticipated such changes in technology, thus having the best hardware available. What am I implying? You will spend $50k~ on hardware either way, however, waiting until next year will give you twice the effective usefulness and lifespan than that of current generation hardware. This means you're litterally getting more "bang for your buck."
Anyway, here are some recommendations:
- You want to purchase an NVIDIA GPU. AMD GPU's may be cheaper, but they're hotter, have worse driver support, and AMD products are not known for their longevity. An NVIDIA GPU will save you time and money, long-term, considering you most likely won't be upgrading hardware every year.
- You need to purchase a GPU with more than 2GB's of VRAM. Again, a cyber cafe is a long-term investment. Next generation games are starting to have recommendations of 4GB or more, and are utilizing more than 2GB's today. Don't skimp out on hardware to save a few dollars here and there. It will come back around and bite you right in the ass.
- A quad-core CPU (e.g. 4690k) is a definite plus. It has been shown that next generation games are demanding more from processors. You don't want to have an entire cyber cafe full of computers unable to handle new games.
- Memory is important. 8GB's is more than enough for a gaming machine, and I think this amount is ideal. What frequency should you purchase? At least 1600MHz. In the USA, 2400MHz memory is only $20 more than 1600MHz. So, I'd recommend that if you can find a good deal.
- A Z97 motherboard is also a good idea. It is more "future" proof than most others. Definitely recommend going with something modern.

I wouldnt be buying hardware now i would wait. It would take me 30 days to do the 30 builds and get all the drivers and software going so ill wait untill next year. Buy i need a base idea of what my builds will be. And how much they will cost. I want good gear thats cost effective, but keep in mind these kids wont use these as home computers so mass storage doesnt sound right and whether i need a fast boot drive should be unknown to me. Like an ssd. I was thinking hybrid drives for all the pcs or a fast enough black drive like 750gb per computer
Any ideas on game platforms to. Have at my pc spot like leagur of legends or something
I need some games to get i havent played anything but tibia or skyrim in like 5 years.
Starcraft 2?
Diablo 3?
I want to be able to run Lol at high fps aswell as those othe 2 games
I think hes coming up with platforms tobuild on in case i need to upgrade. Im currently using a gtx 960 ssc 2 gb aswell as a z97 motherboard. But what i wanna know is the B85 gaming motherboard sufficient. And i definetly eant gold psu righy? For its longevity
Would a 4gb 750ti work. Or do u think i should get 960 ssc 4gb its like 230$
