[tutorial] How to use proxy to prevent ddos attacks (cheap one)

This tutorial is meant for people who want to prevent people from getting their ip. Also this proxy has ddos protecting so if people try to ddos the ip of the proxy it wont work.

Step 1 go to https://www.cactusvpn.com/downloads/ and download the Cactusvpn proxy software



Step 2 go to https://www.cactusvpn.com/pricing/ and order your proxy server( It depends on where you live)



Step 3 Close ventrilo, raidcall, teamspeak, skype and any other program from which people can take your ip.
Step 4 Just login to the CactusVPN software and chose the city that you would like to get an ip from.
Step 5 Chose your wanted VPN Protocol

If you do not know which protocol to use check below:


I am using SSTP myself.

Step 6 Press on connect, within a few seconds you are connected
Step 7 To be sure it is working go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and check if you have recieved a different ip
Step 8 Go to apps. Killer and add all programs to the list from where people can take your ip. This is just in case the proxy ever loses connection


Note: You do not have to use Cactusvpn, any other proxy would work fine also, also if you are lagging with this proxy on you should just use it on your laptop or something like that

Do you think it would work good for someone using Linux and trying to use a ssh proxy tunneling to have less lag in tibia?

I mean, just like people pay to use services like WTFast, Tibia Tunnel, etc. Those services uses a special client that it's not possible (at least for someone with basic skills) to connect via proxychains or tsocks.

I tried to use "semlag" service, that has simple ips to connect (london01.semlag.com) but with all configs I tried I just get "connection timed out".

If someone knows a better solution =)

May I ask how it works. I am trying it now but wont work. Does it only work with the browser. I tried the other option and custom but wont allow me..

Press loggin, then choose game (Teamspeak 3 or w/e) Then just choose whether you wanna manually choose server or have it automatically do it for you. Then press play and wait for a little bit and it will launch whatever game/program you choosed
